After reading the script she recorded the first part of her session with a professional. As per Jonathan Glassner, the stunt team was amazed by the level of training she received for her first lesson. The Outpost is her first significant film in the US because her earlier movies were from Australia. Jessica's love for action evident in her character that includes mixed martial arts and horseback riding expertise, in addition to her strength and agility. Additionally, she can perform her stunts to embody the strength of a female role model. She trained in mixed boxing, martial arts, and muay Thai in an Australian gym. Jake Stormoen was working on Season 4 when he was on Season 4 set when he encountered a dog that was wandering around. It turned out that the stray dog belonged to an entire litter of puppies which were living in the film the set. Jessica took care of both puppies.
